At River Tales & Trails, a certified family preschool, we create opportunities for students to explore  a wide variety of curriculum in a slower, more intentional manner.  With a 7:1 ratio of student to teacher, each step of the learning process is led by a child's curiosity and gently guided by a teacher. 

Our approach honors each child’s unique pace and interests while gently preparing them for the transition to kindergarten and beyond. We feel strongly that a childcare model should focus on longer and more uninterrupted time outside, and less "traditional" classroom learning. We have gardens, chickens, natural playscapes, and mud kitchens to explore outside that provide access to hours of exploration.

In Bend’s four-season outdoor playground, we take full advantage of our surroundings. Nature is not just a backdrop—it is a teacher. Children dig, observe, create, and wonder outdoors in all kinds of weather, returning indoors to process their discoveries through art, writing, and conversation. Storytelling and exploration are woven together so imagination and real-world experience continually enrich one another.
